Digital Heat Applied Vinyl

Digtal Vinyl is a very thin vinyl transfer that is printed in a wide format Eco-Solvent jet printer, then cad cut to shape, and heat applied to the garment. It is best for very small jobs that have multiple colors or photographs in them.

The Digital Viny Process
1) The artwork is prepared with color correction, type added, and any graphics place. Once the design is done, a "cutline" must be created to tell the print & cut wide format Eco sol printer where to cut out the design. This is a manual process and needs to be very precise.

2) The file is rum through software called a RIP ( Raster Image Processor)  which converts the artwork and cut instruction into a "cut file".

3) The image is printed onto digital textile vinyl using an 8 color Roland VersamCam Eco Sol printer. Whe the piece is done printing, it is rolled back into the machine and a cutting knife is deployed and the image cut out of the surrounding vinyl.

4) After cutting, all unwanted parts of the parent sheet of vinyl is peeled away ( called weeding ) and the finished vinyl is head applied to the shirt using a state of the art pneumatic heat press that is temperature and pressure contorlled insuring a durable seal on the fabric to the shirt.
